Websites That Offer Free Shipping To Nepal (and Worldwide!)

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over (and apparently Green Monday too). On these two days, western stores offer huge discounts on products. I was looking to make some purchase, but could not find a deal with free International shipping. Buying from stores, mostly those that are based on western countries, would cost you almost twice the actual amount just for sending the shipment. Some sites don’t even offer paid International shipping, in which case, you have to use a reship service and that would cost you lots of dough.

Not being able to find any good International-friendly deal led me to make this list of sites that offer free shipping to Nepal (and Worldwide, of course!). Most of these sites are based on China. Don’t let it fool you though – they’re not all bad. While it is true that you get what you pay for, I personally feel that these websites listed below give you the best bang for your buck along with a free worldwide shipping. Note that the freely-shipped products usually arrive within 20-40 days in Nepal, however it could take more.

LightInTheBox offers free shipping on most of the products.  The site is mostly dedicated to providing clothings and accessories although you can find electronic goods as well. They support PayPal and credit/debit card payments. I remember buying once using an unverified PayPal but I am not sure if they support it anymore. The clothes that they offer are good and dirt-cheap compared to those that are available on US stores’ websites.

MiniInTheBox is owned by the same company that owns LightInTheBox. While LightInTheBox is dedicated to sell clothings and accessories, MiniInTheBox is for gadgets enthusiasts. You can find cool gadgets under $1.99. I have bought numerous times from them.

The Idle Man

The Idle Man is a menswear retailer based in UK. You can buy clothings and accessories from the site. The products are expensive for us Nepalese, more so because of the fact that you need to pay in GBP. But, if you check out the sale section of the website, you can find some average costing clothes. Besides, you will get 20% off coupon when you sign up for their newsletter. I had bought a pant and a T-shirt from the site. At that time, they used to provide free shipping on any orders, but now they offer free delivery worldwide on orders above GBP50 only. Their clothes are genuine and of high quality, if that’s what you are looking for.

  • Minimum Order Quantity To Receive Zero Cost Shipping : GBP 50
  • Supported Payment Methods: PayPal / Credit & Debit Cards
  • Tracking availability on Free delivery orders: No
  • Time duration for Delivery (in Free delivery orders): 3-8 days

AliExpress is a marketplace. Meaning, it connects buyers with sellers and acts as a middleman. When you pay for something that you order via AliExpress, you pay to AliExpress, not the buyer. The products that you buy from AliExpress have a protection of 60 days. If you do not receive your order within 60 days, and complain to the site, your fund will be returned to you. The seller only gets the money if you confirm that you received the product, or if you don’t make any response within the 60 days of  the protection.

AliExpress being a marketplace, has products that are offered by the seller as free shipping and also those that cost you money for shipment. For that, you need to filter the search results. While searching on AliExpress, select Free Shipping and 1-piece only. You need to select 1-piece only because some of the products have minimum order quantity of 100 or so. Almost all of the free delivery products come with a tracking number, so that you can check where they have reached. It is owned by the Chinese E-commerce giant AliBaba group. While there are good products in AliExpress, there are scammers and counterfeit products as well. So, you have to take extra care of the seller’s ratings and reviews while buying from AliExpress. If you don’t want to get into this mess, you are better off buying from Light and MiniInTheBox, because they provide you with easy refunds and great customer service.

AliBaba has started this trend of shopping on Nov. 11 of each year. 11/11 is termed as Singles’ day (Get it? 11), and like Westerners’ Black Friday and Cyber Monday, AliExpress as well as other Chinese sites celebrate this day as a Shopping Festival. This year too, AliExpress had a grand sale where it was offering products from phones, tablets to clothes at 90% off. I was able to grab some of these deals. :) The total amount of sales that takes place on the Singles’ day on AliBaba’s website is higher than that of Cyber Monday and Black Friday’s sales combined in the USA. It has become the largest online shopping day in the world.

You can find deals on Ebay that offer free international delivery. Most of these products are sent from China. On the left sidebar, scroll until you find Delivery Options. Then put a tick mark on Free International Shipping under it to buy products with free shipping. Sort the search results by price to get the cheapest one. Ebay is a marketplace, so make sure to check the reviews and ratings of the seller before ordering anything.

TinyDeal, TMart, Focalprice, RoseGal, DressLily, DHgate, YesStyle ($25+) are some of the other websites. But, I didn’t receive the item sent from TinyDeal, and the remaining others, I have not tried. So, use them at your own risk.

How to find the cheapest product?

You should know that the product’s prices differ from site to site. In order to save some money in the already cheap products, I do this: copy the image location of any product’s featured image, then perform a reverse image search on Google Images. On the list of search results, I go to the product listing of each known site and compare their prices. I then buy the item from the site that has it listed for the cheapest price.

Do you need to pay customs for the clothes that you order from lighinthebox?

    • Subigya Nepal January 14, 2015 / 4:32 pm

If it has got FREE SHIPPING, then you usually don’t. When you pay for shipping (or when you order via expedited shipping), it is sent via DHL, FedEx, and such parcel delivery services. They charge you money based on the product’s total price (often when it is > $50, but I cannot be sure.) So, buy less at one time, and get it via free shipping even though it takes longer time to reach here (20-40 days). Make sure to take insurance, though.

Can I pay from Russia and ship to Nepal at any address if it has got free shipping indicated from Ebay?

      • Saurav September 29, 2015 / 12:33 pm

“Give it a try”??? So this phrase explains it’s not sure of shipping the material to the address i want it to be delivered?

        • Subigya Nepal October 19, 2015 / 12:24 pm

You should be able to. I don’t see why there should be any problem. Sometimes, they’ll not let you change the COUNTRY in the shipping address (security reasons, you know, CC fraud and stuff), but you can contact the customer care and have it sorted. I had to do this LightInTheBox. I had an unverified Canadian PayPal which I used to order items to Nepal. They didn’t let me change the Country, but I sent them my local address (in Nepal) via a ticket, and they changed it.

So the delivery is right at your home or we need to go to some office to get out product?

    • Subigya Nepal October 19, 2015 / 12:21 pm

Sorry for the delay. Yup, items in which I had mentioned my post box, got delivered to my post box, and those in which I had mentioned my home address, got delivered to my home. One item in particular, however, did not. They called me up, and asked me to come receive it in the post office. So make sure to provide your correct phone number while ordering. Thanks.

I had a delivery (iPhone 5s, sealed open) last year from my relative, via DHL they did not charge anything but they charged custom duty. Now, my question is, if I do order from ebay, probably packed and sealed, do I have to pay more than usual?
